2018 Week 26 Challenges

It was a week with too many twists. Two days were gone in exams and spent a day in learning photography. While I was just trying to get back to my routines, I fell sick. Then I quickly recovered and had an eventful Sunday.

Review of Week 25

1.Book of the week : Highly sensitive person in love

I could successfully read a chapter and made notes of that chapter alone. I didn’t find it that useful after a point since it was more about love than about the highly sensitive person characteristics. I might just read a few selective parts of it later when I need some specific information.

2.Course of the week:

I started a course on marketing on coursera but didn’t find it interesting enough to complete it.

3.Movie of the week:

It was tough for me to shortlist a movie and watch it. I will first make a list of good movies and then start this challenge.

4.Exercise:

I could exercise only on one day as I was sick.

5.Caption my photographs

I realised that it is tough to come up with a caption on the go unless you have a flair for it. I can choose a photograph a day and come up with 10 captions and then choose the best of that. This improves creative writing too.

6.Post at least one article

I have started writing the article and realised that I lost touch with writing. I could not bring it into a shape where it can be posted already.

Challenges for Week 26

Since I have to spend some time on my academics too, I don’t want to burden myself with too many challenges.

1.Book of the week : I, Mammal

It’s a science backed book which explains how happiness and status are linked in the brain. I am excited that it is going to be an interesting read.

2.Course of the week: The strategy of content marketing

From the plethora of courses available, I randomly picked this. Hopefully it will be an interesting one.

3.Habit of the week: Increase my attention span

Unless I am in a flow state, I have a very low attention span. This is something I need to actively work on to focus for long hours.

2018 Week 25 Challenges

One more week of exams made me look forward to the end of them. I have been dreaming of all the things which I want to do once the exams are done.

Review of Week 24

1.Habit of the Week: Forgive myself for mistakes

Forgiving myself for the small mistakes has made me more flexible and helped me love myself better. Instead of fretting over the past, it helped me look at what I can do better for the future.

Challenges for Week 25

Since my exams are going to get over tomorrow, I will get back to my routines.

1.Book of the week : Highly sensitive person in love

I want to finish the book and make notes which I had been postponing since forever.

2.Course of the week

I will find courses where I can learn how to market my book which has been pending for more than one and half month now.

3.Movie of the week

Just like books, movies also have a lot to teach. For a few concepts, books are the best. But for a few others, movies explain them better. I want to watch movies which will give me a different perspective on life. Also, I want to try out movies in different languages which helps me in my learning new language project too. I will start with one a week. Let me know if you have any suggestions for me.

4.Exercise

It has been a month that I stopped exercising regularly. I will exercise at least for 5 minutes to start with.

5.Caption my photographs

A photo speaks a thousand words. A catchy caption can make the picture look more interesting.

6.Post at least one article

It has been a long time that I have written articles. I want to get back to writing.

This is what I am going to start with.

Happy Week 25!

2018 Week 24 Challenge

This week reminded me of school days. I was revising the concepts I studied just before I went to sleep and as soon as I wake up from sleep. Even in dreams I was writing exams.

Review of Week 23

1.Habit of the Week: Affirmations

I could write my first exam well by staying positive. The college has a stone which read “Only positive thinkers are allowed into the campus”. When you choose to think positive, the world also helps you to stay positive.

Apart from that, I invented a few more quick to make dishes. It was fun to cook.

Challenges for Week 24

1.Forgive mistakes

I am too much of a perfectionist that I get angry when I make mistakes in the smallest of the things. I will let all the hatred go and devise a mechanism to avoid making them over and again.

Happy Week 24!

2018 Week 23 Challenges

I have got no clue how the week flew so quickly. I met people with whom I could connect instantly. I felt so happy to make a few new friends with whom I can talk incessantly.

Review of Week 22

1.Book of the week: Highly sensitive people in love

I could not make time for reading this book. I will leave it for studying after exams.

2.Habit of the Week: ‘Why’

This one habit helped me feel sorted. Even though I was not doing this exercise explicitly daily, I had been doing it at a subconscious level. I found an answer to a long pressing dilemma in my head. I feel less confused and happier now.

3.Study for exams

I did a few previous year papers to gain confidence to approaching exams.

4.Cook Lunch

The meal of the first day came out like baby food with no salt and spice. But it was soft hence eatable. On the second day, I cooked potato curry which was not visually appealing but tasted good. The next day, the tomato curry had no salt again but I learnt the right amount of spice. On the fourth day, I made tomato and carrot rice which was the best in the week. I was out of ideas the next day, so had a simple curd rice. I repeated the best of the week item for Saturday. Finally, Sunday was a cheat day.

If there is one thing I learnt from this experiment is cooking doesn’t take a lot of time. It is the before and after processes which eat up the time. This also gave me confidence that I am not that bad a cook and can slowly improve to cook three meals a day.

Challenges for Week 23

1.Habit of the Week: Affirmations

Staying positive is the need of the hour. I tried a few small affirmations last week and they magically came true. I want to continue that positivity for this week too.
Apart from this, I will continue cooking and studying for exams.

Happy Week 23!

2018 May review and June goals

May has been one of the most busiest months. When you read it as busy don’t take it as productive. I did nothing as impressive as April to keep the growth going. But the few changes I made were good in their own way.

Review of May

Study

This was the only major goal for the month. Even though I now know the contents of the syllabus, I could not finish it exhaustively.

Plans for June

1.Write exams well

Studying for the exams is one level and writing the exams well is another level. I want to take all the efforts to get it right.

2.Start the second book

Even though most of my time will be gone in preparing for exams, I will make use of the break time to create a sketch for my next book.

3.Read Books

I can read 2 books in 10 days after my exams. I will read books which will be helpful for my research.

4.Research topic

I will jot down a couple of research topics and do literature review to understand if it is worth doing research on.

5.Affirmations

I will do affirmations for really small things to learn to attract positivity into my life. I will repeat them four times a day to make it more effective.

How was your May? What are your plans for June?

Happy June!
