The Spiritual Perspective of Money
Before we dive into money’s role in our lives, let’s take a step back and remember our ultimate goal—oneness, or nothingness. In this journey, we are gifted with the mind, body, and soul to navigate the human experience. You, at your core, are pure energy, with your soul embodying this energy in your current lifetime, and your mind acting as the strategic tool to help you move through the world.
Now, if every particle holds energy, then money, too, is energy. But if money is constantly circulating and has value only because humans have collectively assigned it meaning, why does it hold such power over us?
Are You Letting Money Define Your Worth?
The first realization that often comes up when questioning our relationship with money is how it determines “worth.” But who is really deciding this worth? Society? The economy?
Spiritual wisdom reminds us that you are already worthy—always have been, always will be. Every piece of energy is inherently complete. It is only our perspective that assigns value to something.
There’s an old story that illustrates this well:
A man takes a stone to a local shopkeeper, who dismisses it as worthless. He then brings it to a jeweler, who sees some value in it. Finally, a gem expert recognizes it as an invaluable, rare gem. The stone did not change—only the perspective of the observer did.
The same applies to you. Your worth does not change based on how others see you. Yet, many allow money to dictate their self-worth, forgetting that money is simply another form of energy.
Why Was Money Created?
If money is just energy, why do we need it for transactions? Historically, money was introduced because people stopped living from their hearts. When resources were used mindlessly, a system of exchange was created to bring structure and balance.
If you find yourself unable to afford something, ask yourself:
- Is this truly aligned with my soul journey?
- Is my conditioning around deservingness blocking me?
When something is meant for you, it will find its way to you—even if you don’t currently have the money for it.
How Much Money Do You Really Need?
In spiritual terms, money is often equated with abundance. The more of your soul’s essence you can embody, the more abundant you become. But abundance isn’t just about accumulating wealth—it’s about how you use energy to navigate your soul journey.
Ask yourself:
- Do I need more money to ease my path?
- Do I see abundance as health, love, or fulfillment rather than just financial wealth?
- Am I spending money for instant gratification, comfort, or true expansion?
Your relationship with money is a mirror reflecting your deeper beliefs. If you perceive money only as a material source, your soul contract may be guiding you to heal a scarcity mindset or work through root chakra imbalances. When you start seeing money as energy, you may realize that exchanging your time for money in unfulfilling ways is what’s truly keeping you stuck.

Before asking for more money, pause and reflect:
What inner need am I trying to satisfy through money?
This simple question can create a profound shift in how you relate to wealth and abundance.
